Tried them but too wide for me 😕 They look nice though, if you have the feet for them
No words will always get a thumbs down from me.
What is the difference between this and the MX238 and the MX238 XC?
Where are these made in?
Followig up on the Helcor thread of @tstigge - I tried customer support which were surprisingly apathetic on the topic "Helcor is a fullgrain leather" (that's it). I guess that implies using all three products, but I THINK Helcor is PU treated so using the leather dressing would be a bad idea according to the video - Jeez guys, just make a chart for your various shoes of how to treat them (which products are relevant), and an educatinal description of various leather types so can all be smarter (you don’t want to answer “What is Helcor?” five times a day ??)
i already installed my wahoo speed play cleats, should i remove them before starting the molding process?
These look like basket balls. Haha
They look like Buddies. Haha
Very good instructions. Thanks
Hello @lake is the MX238 wider heel an issue when cycling and pulling up the pedals ? Thanks Moritz
Weight?
I placed order for birthday gift and lake cycle failed to send my order and refused to respond my email. It has been 10 days still no response from lake cycle.
I have just bought a pair of CX333 and find the top boa dial on the right shoe is done up tight enough to stop the shoe moving it is painful. I have only used them on my SB20 Stages in door bike so far. Any suggestions?
I wear an 8.5 in US. What would be my size if I get these shoes?
You might want to redo this video. 1. music could not be worse. 2. disabled subtitles; you are assuming the user "must" know English and is able to read the embeded text in the video.
Does this apply to CX333 ?
Yes, but just for the heel
Mooie schoen
It says not to use 2 of the products on action leather or suede. What is Helcor leather? Can I use all three products on Pittards wr100 leather and helcor leather on my boots? The description on the website and the video dont really tell you what leathers these are.
Let everyone see how bad your company is. Under the guise of customs issues for overseas orders, you not sending the goods and not handling returns. No reply to letters, IG and Facebook, even though you can refund or communicate clearly. Even if I attach all the information and certificates to you, ezway in my country adopts a "pre-registration system", which means I have already registered it and you just need to send the goods directly. You still not making any reply or refunding. No matter how many letters I send, you still refuse to pay attention or refund. I will find all way to let the whole world see how bad you are.

Any reason not to use this method to expose the 'slots' the enable me to dremel them to allow a more rearward cleat position? The holes are too far forward for me, even in the right sized shoe.
I bought the 332xw and they're a SUPER SHOE in the 42 which're about 107 width. something.. then heard about the 238's & the fact they're wider so got them in > 42 big mistake they're like big 9's, so then tried the 41.5 THEN realised this is too big also so now on 41's in xw and they're really nice my foot is like, flat in this shoe whereas in the 332's it's like 'fitted'/formed around the foot & as much it has a wide factor i can still see its not as wide as the 238 last.. i hope this may help someone upon thinking about buying these, i really like the toe-guard on the 238's too 👌
Gravel shoe style like the CX201 would be perfect!!!!
The MX169 and MX201 were released back in March of this year. Head over to www.LakeCycling.com to check them out.
Seriously?!! We're gonna pretend it's a good show just because it fits the toe box? Why am I paying close to $400 for a shoe when the heel slips? For that money everything should fit %100 perfect without an additional workaround.
Also wondering what’s the purpose of the the heel slip that is discussed everywhere with this shoe. Is there a workaround by the way ?
What about chain grease on the shoes? I have been pretty diligent on cleaning it off after my rides but it is getting harder. I have finally resolved the rubbing issue so I want to deep clean and try to get back to as close to original as possible.

Does this process make the shoe slightly longer, in the sense that flattening the curve of the heel will move the foot a bit towards the back of the shoe? I'm in-between two sizes, and unsure whether I should exchange for a larger size or try the molding process. I would ideally like my current size to be 2mm longer.

Pleae make it with full kangaroo leather!
This model will not be offered in the future with a Kangaroo leather upper. That option is reserved for the Race Last models we offer like the CX332 and CX403.
How much does the shoe bend under pressure?
This is an SPD compatible shoe with a semirigid nylon sole. Not as stiff as a carbon sole shoe but a good balance of stiffness for great pedal power transfer while maintaining comfort for walking. This shoe will not bend like normal shoe.
Lovin' that wide toe box! It's about time a cycling shoe manufacturer dared to make a cycling shoe that is actually shaped like a foot, not a pencil.
Well done for offering what appears to be a truly very wide cycling shoe ... but why do 'mesh' uppers feature here and so frequently on cycling shoes?...I don't know anyone who cycles and complains of hot feet!!! This featured shoe also seems to have an off-road styling/purpose ... but again, why is a mesh upper used on such a shoe? We need muck & moisture protection over ventilation.
We also offer a more closed version called the MX169.
Frankly I don't know anyone who doesn't complain of hot feet! The road version completely solved it for me, whereas I was having a hard time cycling above 30 C degrees. I think its mostly about the heat you're cycling in.
Many cyclists develop hot foot, which is the compressive neuropathy of the interdigital nerve in the forefoot due to compression. The Lake MX 201’s wider width, combined with the mesh and under foot padding, reduces and may even eliminate this inflammation and pain. This model of shoe is a miracle and enables cyclists to ride with reduced or no pain while avoiding surgery for Morton’s neuroma. Bravo!
Hi what about the Lake 304 Road replacement ?
Opps Thats the CX 332

Pantesan mahal wkwk
Now that Lake has so many different lasts and sizes, a really desirable and valuable offering to its customers would be to sell shoes individually. With improved measurement techniques, and the advent of internet sales, it would be great if this company took the bold step of allowing its clients to order shoes of different size and width for left and right. It does not cost any more to make the shoes; only a bit more for inventory management and delivery. I hope they will consider this as I'd be willing to pay up to a 40% premium for that option.
Can this be performed in the front of the shoe? I have the right shoe size but find that my third and forth toes are cramped, so I would like to somehow make more room in the front
Video doesn't mention that the toe area is now less pointy than the CX241, which is a pretty big deal for those of us that don't like having our toes crunched.
My next shoes, to replace current CX 241’s
After it’s been heat molded, would the carbon fiber be hard and stiff or would it be rather flexible?
After heat molding and cooling down it will return to the same stiffness as before it was heated.
Lake with the best house
@lakecycling where can we buy cleat nut replacement?
please send an email to info@lakecycling.com and let them know the shoe model that you have.
Where to find this replacement?
Did you find the part?
Is this process recommended for the mx238 xc(supercross)?
Hi, can you explain how I can make these work for me. The shape is good and moulding may make them even better. However, I'm getting pain in my 5th metatarsal when cycling for more than 30 min. The video mentions adjusting for arch shapes but I'm not sure what I actually change or whether I should be looking at different insoles.
Does this apply to CX238 and CX241?
From what I could tell, the CX242 is the entry level for heat moldable shoes. So the 238 & 241 are not heat moldable.
How far can you get the cleat behind the 1. Metatarsal on average in this shoe?
i've got a pair of cx1 carbon that has the competition last in size 44.5, with a look keo cleat the distance of the center of the cleat fom the ball of the foot is 24 mm. I follow Francis Cade's vlogs and James Thomas, the bike fitter that works together with him for the Bikefit tuesdays videos, said in more than once that lake shoes have quite good seatback that goes around 20-25 mm. Hope that this isn't too much for your simple question lol :D
@@flaviodui6658 I have 3 pair of shoes from lake. And max is 12 mm back from ball of foot.
@@DevelopingNL man, wich models do you have?
@@flaviodui6658 238, 201, 176
extremely good for wide feet. Finally a manufacturer who shares all the information transparently - especially with regard to the width.
